Greenwood High International Campus in Sarjapur recently had the honour of hosting Ms. Lisa Nishii, Vice Provost for Enrollment at Cornell University. She also had an opportunity to interact with the Greenwood High Management led by Mr. Bijay Agarwal, the Chairman and the Leadership Team led by Mrs. Sheila Alexander, the Principal. The meeting indeed was enriching for all.
The exclusive information session conducted by Ms Lisa Nishii for our students and parents provided an incredible opportunity for the attendees to know about pursuing in higher education at Cornell University. Ms. Nishii shared valuable insights about Cornell’s wide array of academic programs and its holistic admissions process, which takes a comprehensive view of a student’s abilities, achievements, and personality. She emphasized the importance of personal essays as a way for students to express their individuality and how these play a crucial role in the admissions process. Additionally, Ms. Nishii explained the advantage of Early Decision that has a higher admission percentage for students. The session also touched upon how students can effectively present both their academic accomplishments and extracurricular involvement. Ms. Nishii’s advice encouraged students to balance academics with meaningful extracurricular activities that reflect their passions, leadership, and initiative. One of the most engaging aspects of the session was the opportunity for students to participate in thought-provoking discussions about interdisciplinary learning and the rich research opportunities available at Cornell. Ms. Nishii highlighted how Cornell supports a wide range of interests and academic pursuits across its multiple campuses and colleges.
