Day care

A home away from home for 2- to 5-year-olds, Greenwood High Day care is a vibrant early childhood centre delivering the highest quality care and education. Through a curriculum which is child centric, our experienced and dedicated teachers will support your child to become a socially, academically, and emotionally well-developed learner. We’ll help them prepare for life’s challenges and equip them with the skills they need unlock their own unique potential.

Toddlers are enormous fun. It doesn’t take them long before they know their needs will always be supported and respond to by us, allowing them the confidence to really let those toddling legs get them exactly where they want to go and explore.

At our setting, we think of our toddler group as being from about 18 months to three. This is such a wonderful age as they excitedly explore and discover with their peers.

Wonderful messy play becomes a real joy for some, but not all as their preferences becomes stronger and their strong wills and sense of self becomes known to all!

I our toddler group, we’ll be supporting their rapidly moving physical development, interest in problem solving, drive for creativity and emerging awareness and understanding of the world around them.

Their personal routines will likely have merged with their peers and apart from specific care needs, they probably will only need one sleep a day or maybe just some quiet time to allow for their rapidly growing bodies.

In their transition through this group, get ready to talk about toilet training, independent eating, starting to dress and undress, coping with their determined independence and supporting them through cutting those first molars!

Not to mention developing social skills that will mean the odd dispute. With support they learn conflict resolution skills and empathy for others. Essential life-long learning

Child safety Awareness

The objective of the child safety awareness program is to guide children into understanding the importance of physical safety, signs of fear, stress, or anxiety when spatial boundaries are crossed, recognizing trusted adults, and remembering strategies to keep themselves safe in potentially dangerous situations. The objective is to give students an insight on “good touch-bad touch and keep them safe.

Computer awareness and A/V learning

Our A/V program uses technology to enrich classroom learning by bringing interactive, multi-dimensional, and creative learning experiences to your child. It introduces your child to the basic skills needed to use a computer and is designed in tandem with the school curriculum to support and enrich the skills taught within the classroom. This innovative and motivational approach to learning helps stimulate young minds by offering a wide range of virtual experiences.  Your child will gain valuable technical skills which will enable them to succeed in their future academic journey.

Curriculum

Our innovative curriculum is designed and developed by a team of early education experts.  We have integrated aspects from Indian as well as British curriculum.

We have provided a scientific amalgamation of –

  • The Theory of Multiple Intelligences
  • The Montessori Method
  • The Play Way Method
  • Our own tried and tested methodologies

We have adopted a thematic approach towards learning. The whole curriculum is divided into thematic units that are carefully crafted to engage children in the learning process by offering a variety of lessons and activities surrounding a common theme that is integrated into all content areas.

Mathematical & Logical skills

  • The sensory and math materials allow young children to perform complex mathematical operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division as well as an introduction to geometric shapes and solids. Children engage with concrete materials which enable them to learn otherwise abstract concepts. Your child will receive math lessons sequentially and progress through the curriculum at an individualized pace.
  • The materials are designed to lead your child step by step from the most concrete representation to pure abstraction.”

Language & Literary

At this age, your child is in the “sensitive period” for language acquisition. Children delight in conversation and begin to associate sounds, symbols, and meaning, which is the foundation of both reading and writing. The integrated classroom is a language-rich environment where your child will develop the love of literature, reading, writing, and expressive communication. This foundation will build strong communication skills, which are critical to your child’s success in life.

Physical & Mental Fitness

  • The mission of our physical education program is to provide students with a safe and positive physical environment while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
  • Preschoolers participate in a variety of cooperative activities and games which will develop basic locomotor skills and physical ability.
