CISCE boys Team won the 65th School Games (SGFI) Under-17 Chess Championship 2019-20 held at The Heritage School, Kolkota from 20th to 24th November 2019. CISCE Girts Team Got the Runner Up Prize in Girls Category. This is the First Time that CISCE has won the SGFI Team Event. CISCE hosted this event on behalf of SGFI.
Grand Master Dibyendu Barua Distributed the Prizes to the Winners. Mr. Gerry Arathoon,Chief Executive and Secretary of Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination(CISCE) has proposed vote of thanks. Mr. Arijit Basu, Deputy Secretary-Finance of CISCE was also present on the occasion.
Totally 28 Teams in Boys Category and 27 Teams in Girls Category from Different States and Units took part in this biggest and Prestigious event for students in the Country.
Anya Syed Seth and Zoya Nizar ,Students of Greenwood High International School were part of the CISCE Girls Team which won the Runner Up position in Girls Category.
Anya Seth Syed apart from winning the Team Prize in Girls also won Gold Medal in Board prize for her performance.She Scored 5.5 Points from 6 Rounds.
Mr. K.Somanath,Chess Teacher of Greenwood High is the Manager and Coach of CISCE Teams which took part in the 65th SGFI Under-17 National Chess Championship.

BOYS: 1. CISCE -10 Points (16.5 Tie break score). 2. TamilNadu–10 Points (15.5 Tier break Score)

GIRLS: 1. Tamil nadu -11 Points 2. CISCE -10 Points 3. Andhra Pradesh -9 Points
